I have to disagree with you there. Martin glowers at the photographer in slightly different ways in each photo.
This is true. He also moves the position of his hat. But you could argue that point with Douglas, too - on the series three cover, he’s turned towards Arthur.
#I love how he looks so proud in the first one and slowly grows more relaxed as the series progresses #which could mean that either he’s more comfortable with MJN or he’s just given up hope #of ever having MJN look normal
I beg to differ. He does look very proud in the first series but in the second and third he’s clearly exasperated with the unprofessionalism of the photographer. In the fourth series photo he is visibly relaxed. Maybe he had a visit from Theresa, who took care of the photographer.
If ever you are having trouble in fandom, or people are dissing it, remember that a Martin doll was suggested, designed, drawn and made into a final prototype in less than 24 hours.

Then who’s Paramount Martin?
I usually keep out of fandom drama but this time it involves a show and a fandom that I care very much about, so.
It’s fine if you don’t like the creative decisions made by a show’s creators. It’s fine if you have your own headcanons that go against canon. But to send whiny emails to the writer because he’s idly musing about giving your favourite character a bald spot? Who gives you the right to tell him that what he’s doing is wrong when he created the characters in the first place? It is not your show. Martin is not your character. Even so, would you love Martin less if he was actually balding? I’d like to think you’re not that shallow.
I almost wish i could downvote some of the comments on Finnemore’s blog, some of them are just cringeworthy…. This is a small fandom to begin with, there’s not a lot of us and CP needs all the love it can get.
